Special Edition: Tony Green and Dr. Catherine Troisi (July 30, 2020)

A Dallas man, who had believed the virus was a hoax, tells the story of how 14 members of his family contracted COVID-19 after a party. Plus, an epidemiologist discusses latest information about the pandemic and answers listeners’ questions.

Our special edition of Houston Matters weekdays at 3 p.m. addresses your questions and concerns about important issues affecting the community.

In the first half, host Ernie Manouse is joined by Tony Green, a writer in Dallas who believed the pandemic to be a “scandemic” until he and his extended family tested positive for the coronavirus. He wrote about his tragic experience in an article published by the Dallas Voice.

Then, joining us in the second half is Dr. Catherine Troisi, infectious disease epidemiologist at UTHealth School of Public Health and the show's regular Thursday guest. Dr. Troisi fields listeners' questions about COVID-19.
